What is the best wireless router for playing games online?
i have a linksys wireless-g right now but it doesn't seem to work that well for my PS3. i have a lot of slow down and lose my connection a lot even though the connection strenghth is 75-80%. i have a fast cable internet connection. is there a better router i can buy or should i try to find a faster modem?|||You didn't say which Linksys you have..I have the newer high speed version and it's great. I run WOW on my pc, my x-box 360 and a Wii all with great success..Get the faster speed version and maybe the tall antennas..|||It depends on which kind you have but I have Netgear and its a-mazing.|||Try a better modem, it usually only has to do with the modem. i had the same problem, BestBuy suggested to get a faster modem.
How do i connect my new laptop to the wireless router i have connected to my desktop pc?
Just purchased a new laptop which has a wireless card. My desktop is connected via wireless router. Do i need to get anything for my laptop for it to read the wireless router or is the card within sufficient? How do i connect it to the router? Its not detecting the linksys i have connected to my desktop. Thanks.|||Hi. Go to the Control Panel and run the Wireless Setup Wizard.|||Easily you have to run wireless search from control panel but you have to make sure of something , 90% of laptops which have wireless also contains a switch , make sure that wireless switch is on , if you need anyhelp then press f1 , write "wireless" and follow instructions

What is the best wireless router on the market that can reach the farthest distance?
Looking for a really good wireless router that can reach up to a mile away with a good signal still. I don't even know if this is possible.|||Wifi is not designed for that kind of distance. It is purposely designed as a low power system with limited range so that many transmitters and receivers may be used in the same general area and not interfere with each other.
There is no Wifi router on the market that meets your requirements.
If you wish to discuss this project further, you will need to re-post with more specific details of what you are trying to do.
Sorry|||Not possible without external antennas, maybe amplifiers, and you would have to have line-of-sight between the 2 antennas (sites)
Only if you have clear line of sight, you can consider external antennas or access points, set up in bridging mode. That bridges the network as one "virtual" network. I use these, though I only go 400 feet:
https://www.demarctech.com/products/reli鈥?/a>
They have higher power. As well, that vendor has some external antenna/AP combinations, that eliminates the coax cable requirements (fed by power over ethernet cable).
If you don't have line of sight, simply forget it...|||distance it can reach depends on antenna %26amp; wifi card..sooo depends which wifi card u buy...n abt antenna..
accoudin to us DLINk is best network device providers atleast in Asia...
thn u can go for CISCO ........bt its a costly....
DLINK Is cheap compared to CISCO but afterall one of the quality product...
soo better u go for it..

I am buying a laptop tomorrow and I was wondering how will I get wireless internet? Is it just a simple as buying and hooking up a wireless router to my shaw cable modem???|||Get a good brand-name wireless router, like a D-Link WBR-2310 (%26lt;%26gt; $30). They're a canadian company with "Real People" tech support and great products.
You must then use an Ethernet cable to configure Wireless and Enable WPA encryption with a passphrase that you make up.
Once configured. Remove the Ethernet cable and set up your laptop to use WPA and the WPA passphrase you set up in the router.
The step by step for XP, or Vista, is in the D-Link User Manual. Call D-Link Tech Support if you get stuck.|||just read the menu|||yes...simply put
