How do I get my wireless router to work?

Only half of my house gets wireless internet connection, so I went out and bought another wireless router. Can I just hook up a wireless router on the other side of the house, or do I need to buy another modem to go along with it?|||Check this link on the KB of Netgear to wirelessly link 2 routers. I am curious on how dense the house is cause a router can easily run 150 ft. You should be able to cover the whole house with a N standard router|||I would call your internet provider, such as Time Warner, Verizon, etc. They can tell you EVERYTHING you need to know and how to hook it up step by step.|||http://www.linuxplanet.com/linuxplanet/reviews/6548/1/ this may intrest you and if your router is not the ones on the list then yes you can use it as an access point the owners manual should tell you how to do this, you do not need another modem If im correct you household can only handle one modem!|||here it is simple. unplug everything, then plug it all back in.|||um that will not help your problem at all|||Some router models can be made to "repeat" the signal to the original router.. you can google wifi repeater to see examples and see if it covers your model. There are also some ready made devices listed below do do that. There are also stronger "High Gain" antennas you can put on your router if the antennas come off.. If you use the 2 routers change the channels so they are not the same as each other.

You must have tried moving the box to see if you can cover more house that way..

You could run Ethernet Cat5 cable from the main of the second router to one of the numbered inputs of the main router if you really have to but that's a pain and defeats the purpose of wireless anyway. You can't have two modems running at the same time on the same line|||This will not work. Wireless routers are not wireless range extenders. Plus these are not the easiest thing in the world to setup.

I recommend a powerline range extender, or just go with powerline in those spots that won't reach. Check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9KWdOLgy鈥?/a>

Newegg.com bestbuy.com tirerdirect.com and buy.com sells them. Search for wireless range extender. These are the difficult ones to setup. The easy one to setup is the powerline range extender.

Or if you want, you can ditch the wireless and go with just powerline. Just go to one of those web sites and search powerline.
