How do you hook up a wireless router through the university internet?

I'm a student at NYU and want to be able to have wireless instead of being tied down to the cable. Is there any hacking that needs to be done to be able to hook up the router to the university's internet? Do you just set up a wireless router normally?|||if a teacher or faculty lets you, just hook it up to the cable, then get a second cable and hook it back up to the computer from the router|||You probably need to talk to NYU's tech department. Each enterprise, either private or public, is different. More than likely you will need an encryption key to go wireless.
