Is there a way to purchase a wireless router and make my college ethernet wireless for my room?

I've seen ads for Cisco and Valet, and our internet here is super slow. The freshman get wireless, but the juniors and seniors are stuck with ethernet. Is there a way for me to just plug the ethernet into a wireless router and get internet?

If not, are there any ways I can do this?|||Hi,

But yes. you can buy a wireless router.... It might cost you about 60 dollers or so.|||Generally speaking yes, all you have to do is get a netgear wireless router or similar and connect it to power and connect it to the ethernet. When people get broadband in their homes they basically get what you have right now..........ethernet in the form of a modem. But most of the time they will also install and give you a wireless router which just connects to the ethernet. Just make sure you get the right router, one that just needs ethernet attachment.

However keep in mind you might still have some problems if the internet is secured, also it will not make your connection any faster and you will likely be sharing it with nearby roommates who pick up on your wireless.

This is really all you need:
