Wireless Router?

I use Time Warner Digital phone, internet and Digital cable. Can I connect a Linksys 802.11g Wireless Router to give access to the internet to my broyfriend's laptop? I connect mine with cable.|||Yes. The Linksys Router would plug into your cable modem instead of your computer. Your computer would then plug into the Router. You can think of the router as essentially a splitter box for the internet connection coming from the cable modem.

To set this up, there should be one cable coming from the cable modem to the port labeled "Uplink" on the Linksys Router. Then, another cable from your computer to the port labeled "1" on the Linksys Router.

You may need to do some configuration on the Linksys Router to allow it to connect properly with the cable modem. Check the documentation that comes with the router - it will explain any necessary steps (Linksys generally supplies good documentation.)|||Yes, connect ethernet from modem into router, and then out to your computer|||Yes if he has a wireless network card, you will need to connect to the internet through the router. All software etc should come with it, just set it up and follow the intructions, most wireless routers come with at least 1 USB card. if not you can use an ethernet cable to connect them.
