What type of wireless router would be best for my ipod touch?

I understand that you need a wireless router to get the internet at your house, but I was wondering what brand would be best for an ipod touch without breaking my budget. I am also wondering if it costs extra to hook up the wireless router to your internet connection. Thanks!|||1. Any router will work. I personally use a Netgear.

I had a Linksys but it was a piece of slow junk, and my Belkin eventually developed a problem that if you plugged more than two computers into it it crashed.

Apple reportedly makes good routers themselves: the AirPort Express doubles as a music streamer (just plug it into your stereo and crank your music using iTunes - you can even use the Remote app for the Touch with it), the AirPort Extreme can share a printer or USB drive, and the Time Capsule has a built-in hard drive that integrates with Time Capsule if you have a Mac.

Routers not only give you internet on your Touch, but they also let you share your internet connection with other desktops and laptops around your house wirelessly.

2. No, it's free. Just unplug your computer from your broadband modem, plug the Internet port on your router into your modem, and plug your computer into one of the other Ethernet ports on your router. Then use the setup instructions that come with the router to set up wireless networking (BE SURE TO ENABLE WPA SECURITY) and then enter all the required info into your Touch.|||This right here is probaly one of the best routers for your money

it has the won the customer choice award 20 months in a row on newegg.com. I also have one my self

and no it does not cost anything extra to hook up your wireless internet except you might have to buy one more ethernet cable depending on how far you put your router away from your computer, because the cable that comes with the router is only 4 or 5 feet long, but there is no extra monthly fee or anything like that
