Wireless router?

I think one of my neighbours is tapping into my internet connection through my wireless router, how can I stop this from happening|||Turn on the wireless security, WEP or WAP.

See your routers manual for instructions.|||you should have a password set up on it, so that only you can get on to it.|||man the same thing happened to my parents when we got ours but you can go to the router through internet explorer/firefox and go to the router adres provided with the instructions and their is a seting to add a password

Enjoy (put me as your best answer)|||Most routers have wireless security installed in them and all you have to do is turn that on. It will require a "password" or passphrase in order to connect once that is activated. This will help keep them out. Just log into you router and activate the service. You will then have to enter that passphrase on your devices to connect them to your router.

You can also activate MAC addressing filters which will allow only authorized cards to connect (each wireless card has a very specific MAC address) You can read these from your routers status pages usually.

You can also in most cases, change your SSID to something unusual and then turn off the broadcast. You will no longer see your router as available so you will have to key in that SSID to connect from your machines.|||Secure your wireless internet connection.

- See the router's manual or, if you don't have it hand, look it up on the manufacturer's website.

- Access your router's interface (there must be an IP address that you have to type into your browser's address line), look for Wireless settings or security and choose WPA-PSK security and add a password.

- To get connected to your wireless router you will have to type in the same password when you try to access your own WI-FI network.|||1.) disable SSID broadcast

2.) change network SID

3.) enable network security, put a password....

4.) find out MAC addresses from your computers and let only those computers access the AP or Router....
