Wireless router?

I have been using a wireless router (Linksys) for ages without a hitch. Suddenly my pc has no wireless assistant and will not pick it up. The lights r flashing and repair says my wireless is turned off but i cant turn it on. Any ideas?|||I have a solution

Solution 1: Remove the power cable from Linksys %26amp; replug it after 3 seconds %26amp; try to browse

Reason:If there was any power fluctuation or Power Outage, that would restart your modem %26amp; router together, but ideally router should be started after the modem gains sync, otherwise it won't take the I.P. forwarded by the modem.

Solution no. 2: Click on start-then Run-type 'cmd',click ok.It will open the command prompt window, type in there 'ipconfig' %26amp; press enter on the keyboard. It will give u the I.P. add, subnet mask %26amp; the default gateway.

By Default Gateway for Linksys should be 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.0.2.

You need to type in the Gateway numbers under the address bar,it will ask about username/password,username by default is 'admin' %26amp; password --leave blank.

Next window would be a set up page.Change the connection type to PPPoe,it will ask username/password,type in the primay email add. provided by the ISP %26amp; the primay login password, click 'save changes'.

Reboot PC %26amp; try to connect.

Also, check the back of your tower to make sure no wires have worked their way loose. Maybe you just need a new router.|||check the router if the wireless is disable...

you need to have a pc connected via a CAT5 network cable to the router...then open you internet broswer then type this in your address bar.

192.168.1.1 then press enter

next it will prompt you for username and password

default is

user: admin

pass: admin

then in you manage to get into the router confiugration click on wireless option then check if it enable or disable..if all is ok in the router side..

then check you on your pc side...are you using laptop if yes....then there is a switch button keys for turning on/off the wifi....find it then turn it on...

if you want to know if its enable or disable...

right click "my network neighborhood"

then "properties" you will see there your network adapter ( current status.

hope this help you.|||My plays up sometimes, I just unplug the wires at the back of the router and then leave it a minute and plug them back in but they have to be plugged back in in the right order on mine It's black, beige then blue, after you insert each wire you might see lots of lights flashing wait a minute for them to settle down (some will disappear) before you plug another wire in. That's how I fix mine not sure if every model has the same wire colours, take a look. Hope you sort it, it's so annoying!|||THERE MIGHT BE FEW POSSIBILITIES IN RESPECT TO YOUR WIRELESS ROUTER CHECK THIS OUT :-

2.CHECK YOUR OPERATING SYSTEM FIREWALL IF ENABLED,DISABLE IT.YOUR ROUTER WILL WORK OUT.
