I have a PC running Windows 7 and a wireless internet usb. I am trying to set up a wireless connection to my Brother printer. I have been told due to my internet connection i may need a router.
If i get one of these will it allow me to use the wireless function on my printer and connect my internet to it also? How does it work exactly?
Thanks a lot!|||You need a wireless router. The printer and your computer(s) will both connect to the router wirelessly, and the router connects to the modem with a cable. Then if you want to print, the router sends your signal from the computer to the printer, and if you want to go online, the router sends your signal to the modem.
You can also do without the router, by wiring your modem directly to your computer, and setting up an ad hoc network to connect the printer. But that's hard to do and very unstable, so I'd really suggest buying a cheap wireless router.
