How to connect wireless modem-router to a wireless Router?

I have a philips modem router on the above floor,i am intending on buying a Wireless router due to a weak signal on the lower floor to connect them,How do i do that?Should i connect an ethernet cable to one of the lan ports of the modem router to one port of the router? Will that work?Or they can also communicate on wireless mode?|||I would take the internet port on the modem-router and connect it to the WAN port of a wireless router. Then power cycle both devices.

Now you may have to give it a different IP address. Im going to bet they both use 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.2.1 or 192.168.0.1

Use IE or your favorite browser put those numbers in the address bar to do this.

I never used the all in one unit. SO you might be fine on the IP setup.. just to be sure use 192.168.100.1 while connected to the modem-router to see if it access it.

Whatever that may be you need to try to access both of them that way.

If that does not work try one of the LAN ports on the wireless router instead of WAN.

The thing is you will not see other pc's on the network with this setup if you plan on sharing files or printers on the network. But the internet works fine.
