Wireless,router?

what the diffent between b and g wireless router,i am using a laptop with a linksys wifi card,witch router do i need for home,and travel with.have a phone line at home.|||Wireless g is the newer version, You should buy wireless g because it works with both b and g. Wireless g cards will work with both networks(b and g). Wireless b cards will only work with b networks|||You can use either, but make sure the card and router are compatible. What you need will depend on your bandwidth requirement so make your choice!|||I think the G might be faster than the B, but dont quote me on it. i personally hate linksys, i had to replace the router 3 times this past year so i took all the routers and blew them up. Netgear has WAY better routers. they cost a little bit more but are a heck of a lot better. if you start to have problems with the linksys router, dont bother fixing it just go out and get a Netgear, better product, less hassle.|||the difference is in the tranmission rate.


802.11g is newer compared to the 'b' ...


thus they are more expensive.


Get 'g' if you surf the net alot, and listen to streaming media alot...





Anyway, when you travel, you cannot bring your router around. You'll only need the wifi card and hopefully the areas that you are in have wireless connectivity. Some airports, cafes, libraries, schools have the wireless connectivity, but you may need a subscription to their services.
